Cake Envy | Food Photography

I’m finally able to post a few more photo’s from my shoot with Cake Envy a few months back! Their bakery/cafe is located right next to Greenlake so you can go down there, grab a cup of joe, a delicious cupcake and enjoy a nice walk around the lake, do some shopping, or maybe visit one of my favorite hot yoga studio’s is also located there called I Love Hot Yoga. :)

Anyways here’s some of my favorites from my shoot over at Cake Envy. It was for the November issue of Dlist magazine.

Hip Hop Photoshoot | Seattle & Everett

A few weeks ago I was able to go out with James, Cory and Nick to shoot a bunch of promo photo’s for their music. We started off at the amazing ginormous graffiti wall in Sodo which I absolutely love photographing at. There’s so much room to move around and do a big variety of shots. We ended the day up in North Everett and exploring around the downtown area. At this moment I’m not able to post up all the photo’s just yet but I am able to show a few. Enjoy!

This photo reminds me of something that’d be like an old newspaper clipping ha.

Stay tuned for photo’s from their recent show on the 15th! :)

Sneak peak / Host switching

Here is a sneak peek from my shoot last Monday with So-Low, Cory Spitz and Soundproof. Stay tuned for a full blog post!

On another note, I’m also in the midst of switching website hosts so my main site will be down for a few days.

Hopeful

I’ve been lucky enough to continue to get more assisting opportunities fairly regularly which is great! I love being to experience how they shoot, how they talk to clients and subjects, what they’re working with and how they bring it all together. It’s been an awesome learning experience every time. I’ve been assisting on a few architecture shoots with Robert Pisano, photographing the interiors of people’s homes all over Seattle, Bellevue and Mercer Island. Being able to continue learning different specialities in photography really helps gain knowledge even in the business aspect of things.

Along with Robert I’ve gotten to continue assisting with Kevin Casey on various portrait-type shoots. It’s all been able to go fairly smoothly and luckily no real mishaps have happened! I’m grateful for all the working photographers out there and being able to have the opportunities to work on in this field.

Knowing that I’m working towards something worthwhile, something that brings me happiness is an amazing thing. It took me awhile to realize that I really couldn’t have a full time time. Well, a full time desk type job. Anything involving an office setting, receptionist or office assistant work was really killing my soul so to say. I have huge amounts of respect to everyone out there who are working 40 hours a week getting that paper! But I’m definitely not one of those people. And I can safely say that with confidence even with the chances that I might fail. It should be worth it. I can’t be stuck anywhere for too long, I tend to go crazy. Being able to freelance and assist kind of on a more “random” schedule is really cool.

All the more reason to keep working towards your goals!
